I love to make and restore/rework things, painting, drawing, needlework, quilts, vintage furniture, dolls, knitting, you name it … When I was 17 I left CT to attend art school in NYC. Everyone should live there once; no other place like it in the world! I taught figure drawing at SVA and worked as a makeup artist. I moved back to CT in 2003 after a 3 year stint in Marin County, CA, an absolutely stunning place to live right over the Golden Gate from San Francisco. While in CA I owned a salon in Mill Valley; what a charming town! I learned a lot about business and met some amazing people. I still miss my wonderful clients.
Now I live in beautiful Haddam, CT amongst all the centuries old capes and colonials that I love. My husband and I built a reproduction Cape Cod house and tried to be as “green” as possible. I was the GC, a very challenging and rewarding job!
I have 1 husband, 3 sons and 4 cats. They are all my muses and my best teachers.

It sounds like we have some things in common! I also enjoy many crafts, and also vintage furniture. I enjoy going to thrift stores, antique stores, yard sales… looking for some “treasure” hidden by years of neglect, so I can restore it or at least show it some TLC.
The place you live sounds wonderful. I, too, like old historic homes. I think it would be wonderful to buy one of those old places, restore it!
